Francis Shawn Bawden received a B.A. in European History from Humboldt State University in 2006. His research focused mainly on Cornwall, but also included topics from other areas of the Celtic Fringe. Areas of research included the Cornish Rebellion of 1497, Cornish nationalism and identity, Cornish miners in Mexico, and the Celtic Revival in Cornwall during the early Twentieth Century.
He is currently a graduate student at San Jose State University majoring in Library and Information Science with an emphasis in Archival Studies.
He has also studied the Cornish language through Kernewek Dre Lyther.
His other passion is family history which he has been researching continually since 1999.
